Accessibility
Learning Experiences All Students Can Share. We’re working to make learning more accessible to everyone—because learning becomes a richer experience when every student participates. At Cengage, our goal is to deliver quality learning experiences to all learners. Inclusivity is one of our core learning design principles. If a learning experience can’t be accessed by all learners, it doesn’t live up to our standard of quality learning. To us, accessibility means more than enabling every learner to use a product—it means learners can use it in ways that support meaningful learning and results. Here’s a look at a few of the ways we’re working to make Cengage learning experiences accessible: As part of our commitment to accessibility, our Digital Accessibility Specialists collaborate closely with Disability Support Services offices. Our products and videos include alternative text, closed captions and transcripts. We integrate accessibility best practices into product development to ensure better access for all learners. We’ve developed accessibility guidelines and training to help our teams meet both Cengage and WCAG standards. Accessibility checks are integrated into development, so our products provide inclusive learning experiences. A nationwide Research Advisory Board, made up of accessibility professionals from various institutions, evaluates features and informs our accessibility strategy to ensure WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance and improve the overall user experience. With the assistance of qualified third-party organizations, we conduct accessibility evaluations of Cengage’s Learning Platforms. Updated accessibility roadmaps containing anticipated remediation deadlines are available by request and updated Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) will be available summer 2026 for each platform, demonstrating our compliance with WCAG 2.2 level AA standards. We’re not only working to make the newest Cengage products accessible to everyone—we’re working with you to help make our legacy offerings meet your needs.
